Reintegration Consternation

Today I decided not to do any work. I didn't do refresher courses, office work, or housework. The only thing I did was play with Gray and Vivian. And, as I expected, my house is an absolute wreck right now. What I didn't expect, and am still contemplating, is the quirky nature of reintegrating oneself into normal relationships after a period of physical, emotional, or mental absence.

The kids adapted just fine, as children will, though they were understandably clingy. Translation: I think I spent less than a minute without at least one child on my lap or my hip which was blissfully irritating.

Clint, however, was a whole different story. The moment he got home we started butting heads which was just plain irritating. I guess that's just what happens when you've been checked out for a while. As soon as I checked in, Clint decided to take what I realize now was a much needed break. Anyway, love conquers all as usual and we are all settling back in to our normal life. Too bad it will only last for about two days...
