If you love something.
Am I a blogger? No. But, I do have this issue that causes me to drive... a lot. It's called my new job. That's another wonderful story, but the reason I'm writing today is that when I drive, I think. When I think while driving, I think too much. And then I wonder why I don't write things down so I don't have to think about them anymore. So. Here goes. My first theta wave induced thought for the day....
"When you love something, let it go."= CRAP. And by crap I mean complete and utter crap. First of all, let's not be vague. Obviously, we're talking about a person, so can't we just say "someone" instead of "something"? And here's the thing. I love my dog, which is exactly why I don't just "let it go." My daughter loves her balloon and so I do everything in my power NOT to let her let it go. Letting things go that we love hurts us and probably the stuff (or people) we lost track of. Now, when we talk about letting people go, there's a difference. First of all, why in the hell would you just let someone go if you love them? And why would they actually go if they love you? Let's re-write the saying to be a little more clear. "If you love someone and they are a complete A-hole and don't love you back even if they pretend to, then kick their a$$ out of your life!" Now for the second part of this popular saying "If it's meant to be, they'll come back." Here's the re-write. "If that no good piece of crap who dissed you, comes back and you feel like going through all that mess again, by all means, let them in. If not, don't." The thing is. We should do what feels right at the time, and not ignore ourselves if something feels wrong. You don't have to let anyone go. If you love them hang on as tight as you can, until you feel like (or other people suggest) you might be getting stalker-ish. Then, if you can't "let go" and move on, get help. But remember that relationships take work and just because one person starts to pull away, doesn't mean it's time to quit trying. It's time to quit trying when your heart and head, or a restraining order tell you to.
Rant complete.
